Last month, our camp staffers attended a Roller Derby bout in Moose Lake, Minnesota. One Heartland was the charitable beneficiary of the Moose Lake Mafia Roller Derby Team in their bout against the Harbor City Shipwreckers. Our volunteers and Leaders in Training ran a carnival on site for the kids that attended from the area, and everyone got to enjoy a fun night out away from the duties of camp.
Earlier this week, we received the donation check from the night which totaled $1,250! A wonderful exclamation point to a fun event put on by a great group of people.
