Activity Leader (Specialist) Positions (MN only)

Lifeguard/Waterfront Specialist

Lifeguards/Waterfront Specialists are responsible for the safety of campers and staff at the pool and lake. Staff in this position should be safety-conscious, organized, creative, and camper-focused. They are an integral part of the aquatics team, working to create a safe and fun swimming and canoeing experience for participants. They will work to provide a safe area through planning and leading quality activities, as well as participating regularly in in-service trainings and responding quickly and calmly in emergencies.

Current lifeguard certification is required and available during staff training.

$275/week plus room and board.

Art Specialist

Art Specialists are responsible for planning, delivering, and evaluating arts and crafts programs at camp. The person in this position should be excited about inspiring and sparking camper creativity through programs that are intentional and effective, taking into consideration the appropriate level of challenge best suited for each group.

Interested applicants should possess an eye for detail, creativity, strong organization skills, and prior experience with a variety of visual mediums.

$275/week plus room and board.

Ropes Course Program Specialist

Ropes Staff act as the eyes and ears of all Challenge Course elements at camp, including the Climbing Tower and both High and Low Ropes Courses. They conduct safety ground school with campers before beginning any activity, as well as belay and spot during all scheduled activities. They are accountable for both set-up/break down and proper equipment use while on the course, along with regular inspections for all climbing structures and equipment.

Interested applicants should have prior belaying experience, preferably in conjunction with the facilitation of team building through low ropes elements. Challenge Course training will be provided during staff training.

$275/week plus room and board.

Program Specialist

Program Specialists are responsible for delivering a safe, intentional, and effective program to our campers. They are the powerhouse for leading all specialty programs we offer throughout camp sessions, including, but not limited to: the challenge course, archery, mountain biking, hiking, drama/theater, and sports.

Applicants should have a passion for one or more of these specialty areas, along with some teaching/facilitation experience. Additionally, they should be creative, organized, and able to adapt programs to the changing needs of the camper group. Current Lifeguard, Archery, and/or Challenge Course certifications are a plus, but not required, as training will be available during staff training.

$275/week plus room and board.

Leadership Program Specialist

Leadership Program Specialists are responsible for the mentorship of 16-17 year old campers in the Leaders-in-Training (LIT) and Junior Counselor (JC) programs who are interested in developing their leadership and career skills. Over the course of the summer, they will plan, facilitate, and evaluate leadership development activities and trainings. They will also collaborate with other camp staff to create meaningful opportunities for LITs/JCs to share their knowledge and practice their skills.

Interested applicants should have a passion for incorporating choice into youth-led programs, along with desire to act as a mentor for older campers while demonstrating patience and understanding.
